#SDCC: Die EISNER AWARDS 2019... alle GewinnerInnen in der Übersicht

Mit dem gestrigen Abend zur Ortszeit in San Diego, Kalifornien bzw. am heutigen Morgen bei uns in Deutschland wurden im Zuge der Comic Con abermals die begehrten Eisner Awards vergeben.

Neben einem überaus überraschten Tom King, der gleich mit drei Awards nach Hause ging, gab es auch einen vollkommen betrunkenen Chip Zdarsky, der für seine Ausgabe „The Spectacular Spider-Man“ #310 den Preis für die beste „Single Issue“ erhielt, womit seinerseits jedoch nicht gerechnet wurde und sein Pegel daher auch bereits zum frühen Abend recht hoch war. Diese Story bildete in etwa den Kern seiner Rede zur Preisverleihung.

Darüber hinaus konnten John Allisons, Max Sarins und Julia Madrigals „Giant Days“ von Boom Box den Preis für die beste „Continuing Series“ sowie die beste „Humor Publication“ einfahren. Jeff Lemire erhielt für „Gideon Falls“ den Preis für die beste neue Serie... welch Glück, dass der Bielefelder Splitter Verlag die Reihe mittlerweile in Deutschland bringt!

Ed Brubaker und Sean Phillips’ „My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies“ (Image Comics) erhielt den Preis für das beste „Graphic Album“, wobei Zeichner Dustin Nguyen für seine Arbeit an „Descender“ (ebenfalls bei Splitter) als bester „Painter / Multimedia Artist“ ausgezeichnet wurde. Matt Wilson (u.a. „Paper Girls“) wurde zum besten Koloristen ernannt und der großartige Todd Klein (u.a. „Black Hammer“) erhielt den Preis für den besten Letterer.

Wie bereits eingangs erwähnt, räumte „Batman“ Autor Tom King glich drei Preise ab. Zum einen für die beste „Short Story“, welchen er für „The Talk of the Saints“ erhielt. Eine Story, die er zusammen mit Jason Fabok für das „Swamp Thing Winter Special“ für DC Comics anfertigte.

Weiterhin sicherten sich King und Zeichner Mitch Gerads den Preis für die beste „Limited-Series“ für ihre gemeinsame Arbeit an „Mister Miracle“, ebenfalls für DC Comics. Gerads erhielt im Übrigen anschließend auch den Preis für den besten „Penciller/Inker or Penciller/Inker Team“. Wer meinen Blog verfolgt, weiß, dass „Mister Miracle“ aktuell für mich zu den bisher besten Publikationen des Jahres gehört.

Als großen Höhepunkt erhielt King im Anschluss noch den begehrten Preis für den besten Comicautor, welcher ihm für seine Arbeiten an „Batman“, „Mister Miracle“, „Heroes in Crisis“ sowie dem „Swamp Thing Winter Special“ verliehen wurde. Meinen Glückwunsch!
